The Alloy System
What Is Alloy?
Engineered Modularity
Corvus Saber Foundry's Alloy System (Alloy), is a highly modular, extremely variable, lightsaber design system that is engineered to augment two separate but similar systems.
- Nexus/LGT's Variable Hilt Component System
- TXQ's Modular offerings.
Alloy utilizes key construction components to adapt both of these systems together using common themes and shared elements such as component thread patterns. VHC's structure and format was heavily foundational to the creation of Alloy, yet Alloy breaks from the predictable system format. Alloy breaks away from the pack and forges a bond between two similar systems by offering a completely different format designed for extreme levels of modularity, expanding hilt construction options for both supported systems, while breaking from convention and simultaneously providing the capability to stand alone as its own unique system.
Alloy System Pillars
-
UNIFY
Bridge the Gap between Nexus/LGT's variable hilt component system (VHC) and TXQ's modular component offerings.
-
E...X...P...A...N...D...
Develop component categories ignored by the mainstream market which create dimensionality.
-
EVOLVE
Move beyond "assemble-you-own" to truly modular construction methods that challenge true saber smithing.
Cross System Integration
Alloy is designed to harness the strengths of both systems to deliver an improved modular lightsaber construction experience. Parts from VHC and TXQ's modular offerings can be interchanged with Alloy components at will. Alloy's simple, but robust platform allows users to create a familiar found parts element that captures the spirit of kit bashed sabers that is anchored in the original propmaking of the movies.
With emphasis on extreme modularity and enhanced visual interest between components, Alloy utilizes a combination of Female threaded main body components (emitters, chokes, extensions, switches, grips, pommels) and Male threaded adapters to create saber component formats that are almost infinitely compatible with both VHC and TXQ modular saber parts systems.
Alloy serves as a universal bridge in a fragmented market. We’ve engineered our male adapters and female body components to unify LGT’s VHC system and TXQ’s modular parts into a singular, seamless construction experience.
Beyond the Basic 4 Paradigm
Stand Alone
Many vendors accept the basic system limitations selling lightsaber parts in the 'basic 4' component structure and billing them as a modular. Sure we can swap around a few parts here and there, but the system still gets stale. Other vendors create new parts for the system, but stay stuck in the same format paradigm. New parts like the old go stale. Few have taken on the task of evolving the system meaningfully in ways that stretch its capabilities and the perceptions of the system as a true competitor for custom lightsaber construction. Alloy's willingness to explore outside of the safe space of the known format, provides the opportunity to shape the future of the system.
Used as a stand alone hilt system, Alloy brings a dynamic ‘found parts’ aesthetic beloved by saber smiths and connects to the deep roots of saber building. It expands far beyond Variable Hilt Component Systems (VHC) and TXQ modular system capabilities adding entirely new, never seen components to the system that are both compatible with the past but charted towards the future. Alloy's modular design and parts variability focus taps into the same satisfying constructive play connections made with other popular building systems like that Danish brick brand or Rod-and-Connector building toys making it a top tier choice for a saber smith who likes to tinker the ability to build and rebuild their hilts until they find what fits.

Continued Expansion
With new parts added frequently, the capabilities of Alloy continue to grow and expand on the possibilities available to saber enthusiasts that work inside the greater VHC system advancing it from an entry level
While the market offers many ways to build your own lightsaber or design your own custom hilt, Alloy was created to move beyond the limitations of standard assemble-your-own kits. We’ve taken the traditional do-it-yourself spirit and elevated it into a journey of craftsmanship. Whether you are looking to construct your own saber from the ground up or evolve an existing VHC hilt, the Alloy System provides the industrial-grade architecture required for true smithing.
The component combinations using Alloy are nearly endless. Few other saber systems provide the flexibility built into Alloy. Few other aftermarket systems can be both an augmentation of existing systems and maintain the ability to stand alone.
