You're invited!

The Corvus Saber Foundry Schema Initiative, is a completely new, community-driven approach to modular lightsaber construction and VHC-compatible design, where we let our customers forge new designs to create parts kits for the galaxy to use.

A Community Collaboration

Corvus Saber Foundry is fueled by creator innovation. Your contributions to design through the Alloy System Development pipeline have helped to create many of the VHC-compatible lightsaber parts in our line up. We wanted to give you a spot to contribute even further!

This initiative is for you!

A celebration of the endless creativity of our community of creators, offering designs built on creator techniques that reveal unexpected results, from your workbench to theirs. These designs are completely you! Pure creativity.

We strive to create a community of creativity that feeds itself!

    Component Schema Kits

Alloy

The Foundation of every Schema.

Alloy is an intermediate-tier building system designed to bridge the gap between variable hilt component (VHC) sabers and TXQ modular sabers. Alloy breaks from traditional VHC architecture while still supporting, providing a system of interchangeable adapters and body components while introducing extreme levels of modularity that sabersmiths can use to move from beginner to expert.

So what is a Schema?

Think Blueprint. Your Design. Codified.

A Schema is a verified construction specification--in context to lightsabers, it is a definitive parts list and assembly guide required to replicate a proven component.

We’ve seen the extraordinary things you’ve created using the Alloy system. But your talent shouldn't just be a fleeting post on a message board or a photo in a gallery. We want to turn your vision into something permanent. Something tangible.

We want to turn your build into a Kit.

Whether you are building a full hilt or a sub-assembly a Schema should include:

  • A verified component list: exactly what you need, nothing more.
  • The Formula: repeatable roadmap for fellow saber smiths to replicate your build,
  • Assembly Notes: It transforms your concept into a repeatable formula for other saber smiths to replicate on their own.

And we're taking it a step further.

Introducing: Component Schema Kits

We've turned your parts list and instructions into actionable product. Where the Schema is the digital DNA- the parts list, the assembly order, and finishing notes, the Component Schema Kit (CSK) is the box to your doorstep. Our Component Schema Kits are curated to provide the entire formulary of your design in a single kit, allowing others to build your designs with precision.

A Community Collection

Credit Where It's Due.

Your time and energy went into making these Schema, so we're providing a special collection where your creations will be displayed, your name or social handles credited in the listing, and a product comment section, where other saber smiths can comment, dish with one another, or provide constructive feedback.

Your schema contributions go toward a living, breathing, adapting library of designs. Part of a self sustaining ecosystem of saber creation!

Okay, I'm interested...how does this all work?

You might be asking yourself a variety of questions trying to understand this process. No other vendor in the community has done something quite like this. Don't worry we've got the plan. We think it can be summed up in four easy steps.

  • Create

    Grab some CSF parts.

    Experiment with:

    1. orientations,
    2. combinations
    3. arrangements.
    Explore available parts
  • Document

    Record your parts list.

    Create a simple diagram.

    Identify Special Details.

    Take some pictures.

  • Submit

Use the form below to document and submit your new schema!

The Process

What happens after submission?

After your submission is provided to Corvus Saber Foundry, we will:

  1. Evaluate your schema for any weaknesses or liabilities that could cause a failure.
  2. Test your schema instructions to ensure repeatability.
  3. Create digital assets to support a part listing such as a part renderings, animated models, and exploded views.
  4. Create a physical model for additional digital media take pictures.
  5. Generate a part listing with design credits you wish to have listed.
  6. List the product for sale available through this collection!

Submissions Requirements

Parts Exclusivity

We request that your Schema use Corvus Saber Foundry Alloy parts exclusively. We do not stock standard VHC parts as produced by Nexus. That said, we acknowledge that Alloy and VHC work hand in hand. We are open to the idea of crosslinking vendor parts to vendors we have vetted or work with on a case-by-case basis. This is a community of course.

Design Considerations

Your design should be structurally sound and functional. This means if your build is hanging on by a single thread or held together by means known only to you and the Force, it probably won't work as well as you'd expect for other saber smiths.

Creators will be notified via email of any design discrepancy that fails this test. Schemas that fail this test will require correction and resubmission.

The Creator/Business/Customer Handshake

We don't want a legal mess. No one wants that.

Here is a simple Creator's Agreement:

By clicking 'Transmit' and submitting your blueprint to the CORVUS SABER FOUNDRY SCHEMA INITIATIVE, you are agreeing to the following:

For the Creator

  1. The "Parts" Rule (Derivative Works): Since this design uses CORVUS SABER FOUNDRY modular parts, your Schema is a collaboration between your creativity and our system.
  2. Exclusivity: You’re giving CORVUS SABER FOUNDRY the exclusive right to turn your Schema into a commercial kit. This means you won’t sell this specific design or license it to other companies.
  3. The "Official" Kit: You grant us permission to assemble, package, and sell your Schema as a kit in our store.
  4. Commercial Sublicensing: You grant CORVUS SABER FOUNDRY the right to license your design to our customers for their own commercial purposes. This means our customers can use your design as a part of their own professional projects, products, or builds.
  5. Modifications Allowed: You agree that CORVUS SABER FOUNDRY and our customers may modify, "finish," or adapt your blueprint to fit specific project needs.
  6. Credit Where It’s Due: You remain the designer. We promise to credit you by name (or handle) on the product page and, anywhere else you might request.
  7. Marketing Rights: You’re okay with us using photos or renderings of your design to promote the program, the store, and your awesome work.

For the Hobbyist/Professionals:

  1. Built to Build Upon: Your kit purchase includes a Commercial Use License. You are free to assemble, modify, and integrate this design into your own professional projects or commercial builds.
  2. Resale of Finished Works: While you cannot repackage and resell the "raw" kit or blueprints as your own, you are permitted to sell a "finished" or "integrated" version of this design as part of your business's services.
  3. No Royalty Fees: Once you buy the kit, you don't owe us (or the original designer) any further royalties, no matter how much you charge your own clients for the final build.

Publication Considerations

Evaluation of Schema submissions will be accomplished on a first in, first out basis. Depending on store workload, evaluation, asset assignment, and publication could take a few days up to two weeks. Please be patient if you don't see your Schema immediately. At a minimum, assuming ample supply of Schemas exist, one new Schema Kit will be released per month. Additional Schema Kits will be produced and added as time permits.
