Product Information
Historically, the thin-neck lightsaber design provides a unique aesthetic aspect, but presents a unique engineering challenge. Our insert designs prioritize strength and security offering a 6mm Neck Insert Thread length and a 45 degree friction chamfer that locks the neck to the base while redirecting force. A raw finish allows for user customization through etching, weathering or other surface treatments.
Thin Neck Inserts are precisely engineered to thread into the Corvus Saber Foundry Thin Neck Base M or Thin Neck Base F products. Manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum, this Alloy Thin-neck insert features a male-to-male threaded format with matching threads at both ends. Dominating the center of the insert is a threaded windvane element designed to accept one of three included Windvane Covers so you can recreate the iconic canon saber designs of Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke or the refined aesthetic of Leia and Eno Cordova.
The asymmetric insert profile furthers the aesthetic legacy and creative freedom; users will find the matching thread ends provide two neck appearance options by simply reversing the orientation of the insert. This particular insert also holds a secret: by threading the windvane covers on in the opposite direction you unlock a second visual orientation, creating a staggering 16 possible visual combinations from the Type 4 Insert alone! When integrated with our Thin Neck Base selections, you have the power to create 128 unique Windvane Thin Neck variations. No other offering on the market comes close to this level of configuration.
Technical Considerations
The reduced diameter of the neck section of these components require careful consideration of internal component placement. Due to VHC form factor limitations, users making bold thin-neck designs that deviate from current standards may require chassis modification or a custom chassis to accommodate. We recommend using a pre-existing thin-neck core with pigtail and adapting it to your purpose. Corvus Saber Foundry is not responsible for damages to chassis due to user modifications. Alloy components are designed to interface with known form factors, dimensions, as well as meet or exceed material strength of LGT/Nexus/Damiensaber VHC and TXQ Modular systems. Specifically, Alloy components are manufactured from a higher strength aluminum alloy which provides enhanced durability and strength. Integration and use with other Corvus Saber Foundry Alloy components and other similarly compatible third-party parts is supported and encouraged!
Safety and Usage
This thin-neck lightsaber components are intended for light choreography. While our design features a 200% increase in insert thread length, and a 33% increase in thread wall thickness compared to competitors as well as a friction-locking chamfer, users are advised to exercise caution during handling to avoid heavy impacts or strong blade binds. We believe these necks are suitable for dueling, testing is on-going, as always duel at your own risk.
