Product Information
Historically, the thin-neck lightsaber design presents a unique aesthetic aspect and engineering challenge. The reduced diameter neck section necessitates precise material selection and machining to maintain structural integrity. This design prioritizes strength and security offering a 6mm Neck Thread Boss depth and a 45-degree friction chamfer that locks the neck insert in place while redirecting stress away from a pivot point. The raw finish allows for user customization through etching, weathering or other surface treatments.
Manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum, this Alloy Thin-neck base features a male threaded, angled profile with a deep set thin-neck insert boss and a profile designed to interface directly with our OWKGG Body Segment to give you that Obi-Wan Kenobi thin neck grip profile without sacrificing function or appearance of your saber. Combine this with our Thin Neck Adapter Type 4 and you can complete the OWK look, a look previously reserved for replica sabers, now realized for the VHC ecosystem.
Technical Considerations
Due to the reduced diameter of the neck section, this hilt element requires careful consideration of internal component placement. Due to some form factor limitations on VHC electronics, users making a bold thin-neck design that deviate from current standards may require chassis modification or a custom chassis to accommodate. We recommend using a pre-existing thin-neck core and adapting it to your purpose. Corvus Saber Foundry is not responsible for damages to chassis from modifications. Fortune favors the bold. Alloy components are designed to interface with known form factors, dimensions, as well as meet or exceed material strength of LGT/Nexus/Damiensaber VHC and TXQ Modular systems. Specifically, Alloy components are manufactured from a higher strength aluminum alloy which provides enhanced durability and strength. Integration and use with other Corvus Saber Foundry Alloy components and other similarly compatible third-party parts is supported and encouraged!
Safety and Usage
This thin-neck lightsaber components are intended for light choreography. While our design features a 200% increase in thread material over competitors and a friction-locking chamfer, users are advised to exercise caution during handling to avoid heavy impacts or strong blade binds. We believe this is duel-able, however, duel at your own risk.
